Happy Holidays:

I just posted some pictures to Flickr.  They are of the gingerbread decorating and the kids in the 1st snow.  Enjoy the break and your holiday.  One last reminder tomorrow is PJ Day.

Panda News:

We continued to work on our gingerbread theme.  This week we focused on Jan Brett's The Gingerbread Baby.

Language Arts:  

We worked on lowercase u and i.  We also worked on the word am. We worked on retelling the story focusing on beginning, middle and end.

Math:

We continued to work on practicing teen numbers.  We played a variety of games using dice and ten frames.

Art:  

The students created gingerbread babies and a house for them to live in.

Social Studies:  

The STA is running community service project to collect food for the needs of people in our community.  They can bring in a canned good to add to the deposit boxes.  Also don't forget about the other service projects going on throughout the school.

Science:  

We made gingerbread slime.  The kids loved playing with it.  I will link the recipe and check out the photos on Flickr

PANDA NEWS:

We have begun work on our gingerbread unit.  We have read a few versions of the folktale The Gingerbread Man.

On Wednesday, we had a UNH Hockey Player as a guest reader.  The Pandas enjoyed it very much.

Thank you to all that help support our school and classroom.  We couldn't do it without you.

Language Arts:  

We worked on lowercase a, d, and g.  We also worked on the word the. We started writing in our gingerbread journals responding to the stories.  

Math:

We continued to work on practicing teen numbers.  We have learned all teen numbers start with 1 ten.  We have been practicing counting to fifty by ones.

Art:  

The students worked on a winter quilt this week.  They decorated their painted gingerbread men.
